A day I'll never forget.
A day I could tell you exactly what I was doing.
A beautiful day --not a cloud in the sky.
I remember that day oh so vividly
Where I was.
What I was doing.
I was in Mrs. Potters 8th grade math class, when we were told to turn on the TV.
We were told that a plane had flown into the world trade center in New York City.
Word Trade Center? I had no clue--
Minutes went by--We sat and watched as the building burnt.
I witnessed the 2nd plane fly into the building-
I was in awe--
What was this?
What was happening?
I felt numb.
Scared.
My heart ached for those who were suffering.
Then the towers fell.
The room went silent.
We all were in shock, disbelief.
Every single person had a tear in their eye, a lump in their throat.
The day innocent lives were taken.
Fireman and police officers risked there lives.
Hero's were made.
Stranger helping strangers out.
My heart was broken.
It's the day that changed America
There have been programs on TV all week here in NZ about 9/11 and the stories of survivors and people who have lost someone special. I will remember all those lost and send thoughts and love to all of their family and friends. Love, thoughts, and strength to all of America on this day.
ReplyDeleteI was also in the 8th grade and at school when I found out. That day didn't seem real.
